I had my cas interview this month. During the interview I was asked about what, in my opinion, was hard or easy, good or bad about my cas experience. This question made me look back at my year in retrospective and actually think about the meaning of what I was doing and how it impacts me. I actually realized that I was doing CAS activities which were almost never forced, I do the things I enjoy and I get better at them continuously. At the same time I give back something to society. It’s just something I did not give much thought – it seemed natural to me, but now that I thought about it, I realized that it is very valuable to me.
During the interview I also thought about what the meaning of CAS is to me. I wondered to what extent has CAS made an impact on me as a person. And what I realized was that it has opened doors for me, it has made me grow and in a way forced me to better myself mentally and physically. I’ve gained invaluable knowledge from most of the things I did over the year and that just makes me look forward to next year.
